Texas Mental Health Services is in-network with Curative. Here's what to have ready for a free benefits check before you start therapy.

If you're starting therapy on a Curative plan, the curative baseline visit is Curative's own annual requirement, and the terms belong to Curative, so confirm them at curative.com/baseline. Texas Mental Health Services is in-network with Curative, and we check your mental health benefits at no cost before your first session.

What the Curative Baseline Visit Means for Therapy

Curative publishes the annual Baseline Visit, no copays or deductibles on standard plans, and the Zero First plan as its own plan terms. We repeat them only as Curative's language, never as a promise about your bill. For the current deadline, who must complete it, and what it covers, Curative's page is the source.

A therapy provider can't see inside your plan from the outside. How your plan handles mental health visits comes from a benefits check, which we run using your member ID and plan details.

You don't have to finish one step before starting the other. Booking the Baseline Visit with Curative and asking us about benefits can happen in the same week.

What a Benefits Check Tells You

TMHS is in-network with Curative for Virtual IOP, Virtual Outpatient therapy, and psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Coverage is subject to your plan's benefits, medical necessity, and any prior authorization Curative requires. Our admissions team verifies benefits confidentially and explains your deductible, copay, and coinsurance before the first session.

We don't publish dollar figures or predict your out-of-pocket amount, because plan design varies widely. What you owe depends on your benefits, the level of care, how many sessions you attend each week, and whether psychiatry is part of the plan.

If you're comparing a weekly option with something more intensive, ask during verification and we'll check both against your plan. When you move from IOP to outpatient, we re-verify benefits for that level.

Choosing Between Weekly Sessions and a Virtual IOP

Virtual Outpatient runs 1-2 sessions per week by secure telehealth and works as an entry point into care. Virtual IOP runs 3-5 days per week at about 3 hours per session, for people who need more support than weekly therapy.

Placement is a clinical decision made after a confidential assessment, and our team recommends the lowest effective intensity. Care begins when it's clinically appropriate and your benefits are clear, with schedules and start dates confirmed at intake. If your Baseline Visit timing is on your mind, mention it when you call so we can account for it as we go through your benefits.

What to Have Ready for Verification

Have your Curative insurance card, front and back, along with a photo ID. Our admissions team also asks for a list of current medications and prescribers, any prior treatment history, recent hospitalizations, and an emergency contact.

Sessions happen from home or another private space, so plan on a device with a camera, microphone, and reliable internet. You don't need medical records or a diagnosis to ask for verification, and it doesn't obligate you to start care.

You can begin on our insurance verification page, or reach admissions by call, text, email, or the secure form. If something needs to be confirmed with Curative directly, we'll tell you.
